Make the Most of Fall with These Marketing Tips

Make the Most of Fall with These Marketing Tips

Fall is here! And as pumpkin spice starts to take over, it’s time to start thinking about your marketing strategy for the autumnal season. The fall season offers many opportunities to improve your presence and marketing strategy—and gain new customers.

Here are Charisma’s favorite marketing tips to try this fall.

Strategize with Fall in Mind

Fall is the beginning of the holiday season, which gives you ample opportunities to promote your business! Using autumnal imagery and wording can reflect the excitement of the season and upcoming holidays while promoting your products.

When marketing your business in the fall, think in terms of your brand’s unique identity. Is your tone playful or more serious? Example: If you run a bakery, a fun post about fall desserts could get a lot of traction.

A small accounting or healthcare firm might focus on tax deadlines or healthcare enrollment dates.

Trust is key!
No matter the season, position your business
as an authority your customers can trust.

Run a Fall Social Campaign

Embrace fall and run a social media advertising campaign full of autumnal imagery. No matter what you are promoting, twist the promotion to fit the fall theme and use plenty of leaves, pumpkins, and fall images in your posts. Fall Themed Online Ads

Like your social campaigns, change out your online displays and AdWords campaigns with a fall-themed promotion. If you see good results by tweaking your advertising based on the season, you can mimic this strategy during other holiday seasons or future events.

Start Planning for Holidays NOW

The sooner you start planning your marketing strategy for the holidays, the better!  When the holidays come, you will be too busy to plan for next year, so it's best to use this “down-time” before the holidays to analyze and strategize.   Fall is the perfect time of year to analyze how well your business performed this year, what marketing efforts worked the best and what you might like to try next year.

Launch a Fall Charity Initiative

Never use social responsibility as a marketing gimmick. It's never too late to incorporate it into your company's fundamental beliefs, though, if it isn't already one of them. Fall is the season of giving and is a great time to engage with your community and do some good.

Ideas could include:

  • Hosting a raffle and donate a portion of proceeds to a nonprofit
  • Offering discounts to customers who bring in canned goods to donate to a food pantry
  • Setting aside part of all sales during the month of Thanksgiving and donating to your favorite charity or cause

Think about what your community most needs and how your business can be of service.

Make Sure Your Website is Mobile-Friendly

While this is not something that you should only do in the fall if you don’t have a responsive mobile-friendly website, what are you waiting for?   Having a well-designed, responsive mobile site creates a great first impression as well as a positive customer experience.

Especially if you want people to shop your store for gifts this season, mobile-friendly is the way to go. The future is here – update your website accordingly.

Improve Your Social Media Presence

While you may have an amazing website and business concept, if you don’t have an online presence, your customers likely won’t be able to find you. Social media is essential to your marketing strategy!   Now that we are in the fourth quarter, it is important to take a critical look at your social presence and make changes if necessary. Opening social accounts is only the beginning—you need to post consistently to make an impact!
