#1. Schedule Posts

This tip is quite simple, yet few business owners do this consistently. Scheduling posts takes the guesswork out of what to post each day, and using a scheduling app can help you share posts to your social profiles more consistently.

Just because social media is always “on” doesn’t mean that you have to be! You’re a busy business owner after all!

Further, scheduling social media posts ahead of time allows you and your marketing team the opportunity to plan for events, holidays, employee anniversaries, and more. With this taken care of, you can stay focused on other important business tasks.

#2. Add a Call-to-Action to Social Posts

This is another another easy trick, but it has huge potential! Why not try to increase your email newsletter list at the same time that you are working on growing your social media audience?

You are losing out on numerous opportunities to increase your subscriber count or turn your social media followers into subscribers if you don't include a call-to-action (CTA) on your social networks.

In a nutshell, your social profile should briefly explain who you are and what you do plus a CTA.

Further, you should consider adding a CTA to your Instagram bio for your email list sign-up form. This CTA should entice visitors by briefly explaining the benefit that they will get from signing up.

Putting this link directly in your bio also reduces your audience’s effort, since they can simply click the signup window within the Instagram app.

#3. Add a Sign-Up Button on Facebook

You have many opportunities to increase the number of email subscribers to your business Facebook page. Add a button to your page that sends people to a landing page where they can subscribe to your list or add an arrow to your Facebook cover image pointing to your sign-up button.

If you don’t want to add a button, you can add a link in the left hand sidebar of your page. This area of Facebook is prime real estate to entice people to sign up for your email list!

Share your email newsletter CTA on Facebook multiple times so there is no way that your audience can miss it.

#4. Post About Your Newsletter on LinkedIn

Post snippets of your email newsletter’s content on your LinkedIn profile and let your visitors know that if they sign up, they will get access to all of the amazing content that you share, and every newsletter from there on out.

#5. Encourage Current Clients to Share

This is another easy one! Add social sharing buttons at the bottom of your email newsletter so your readers can easily share it on their social profiles.

We recommend linking these sharing buttons to your sign-up page. That way, if someone likes your emails, they can easily share them with their audience.

#6. Use Facebook Ads

If you have money to invest in your email list, a Facebook ad could be a great way to do just that. When you do this, it's crucial to create a landing page where you can direct new visitors rather than simply sending them to your website's home page or another page with a lot of distracting content.

Facebook ads will need a little bit of upfront investment, but you can recoup this investment once people learn about your products or services that you share in your email newsletter.

#7. Use Pinterest to Promote Gated Visual Content

Pinterest is a “visual search engine” through which you can share blog posts, images, and email sign-up graphics. Use the visual aspect of Pinterest to your advantage, and promote your high-quality gated visual content on the platform.

What is “gated” content? Well, it is content that is hidden until the visitor enters their email address. See? Simple!

Sharing on visual content will engage potential clients more quickly and entice them to submit their emails to get more high-quality information or services from your business.

Using Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter to promote your gated content is easier because it doesn’t look like a sales pitch. It looks like a blog post!

You don’t want your social media posts to be too ‘salesy’ if they are going to be effective.

#8. Film Lead-Generating Instagram Stories

Instagram might not be the first platform that comes to mind in terms of generating leads for your email list, but it should be!

Use Instagram to share short promotional videos, entertaining or silly videos, product overviews, etc., and include a CTA to sign up for your newsletter for more engaging content!
