Yes, you need to write and publish articles on your website to generate traffic and share your expertise, BUT these days, it’s just not enough! Content is insanely competitive these days! In fact, there are over 70 million blog posts published monthly!

Are you ready to amplify your content and grow your traffic & website conversions? Then it’s time to look beyond clicking publish, and start promoting blogs on other outlets to expand your reach. Here are the best places to start…

Make Like a Megaphone

We’re certainly content cheerleaders! Many small to midsize businesses we meet have been diligently creating and publishing content for years. They are putting in the work, but find that this valuable content was not being seen on a wider scale.  Sharing content on other outlets like using a megaphone.

The more places you promote it, the wider that message will spread, and the louder your business will be heard!  It’s all about the right place, at the right time so the right people will see it. Then you repeat the process and make your content evergreen to help the more than 3.5 billion internet users today.

Best Places to Promote Blog Posts

Social media channels are one of the best ways to promote your blogs, but there are so many other options as well! Here are a few of our favorites…

Pinterest

We call it ‘visual Google’. Pinterest is all about images; you’ll want to create 3-6 images for each blog post and pin them to the multiple boards related to your topic. Collaborate with other Pinterest users who share the same interests, and pin your content on group boards.  This can give you a great traffic boost who may want to opt-in for more updates and stay-in-the-know of what you do!

Facebook Groups

Some groups will let you promote your articles and share useful tips, others won’t as long as you aren’t too sales-y about it, and follow the group's rules you should be fine. Share to your own business page first then share the original post that way your page is tied to it and you can get more page likes.

Remember: find groups that are relevant to your blog topic and engage with the members before you start promoting your content. Let people get to know you first, it will go a long way here.    Like us? Hit that like button on Facebook to get more free marketing tips from Charisma!

Email List

This is a built-in targeted list of people who signed up to hear from you for a reason! This is a wonderful way to get your best content in the hands of your most engaged audience members. Encourage your readers to share your content and visit your website to learn more. Email (like social media) has a big reach.

Google My Business

Because Google prioritizes blogs, SEO is huge! Google My Business is especially great for small, local businesses to promote their content and move up in the maps rankings so more prospects find you organically. Add these updates to your awesome reviews and you’re in for some significant future growth!

Quora

This is a great source of information. Promote your post by finding a question where you can give an expert answer. If you have a post that is related to the topic discussion, include a link to your website which will provide additional information on the topic.

Twitter

The average lifetime of a shared tweet is 17 minutes! That’s a lot of traction! Share what’s NEW on Twitter for sure and then you can post snippets multiple times, but in different ways, and use different hashtags to get your story seen.

Tip: If you are mentioning someone in your blog, find them on Twitter and tag them in a tweet (this works on Facebook and Instagram too, but remember their handle may change from platform to platform).

Mix (formerly known as StumbleUpon)

This gives readers a way to easily bookmark your post. This helps interested readers discover interesting websites and articles with the online extension. Simply submit your post, add your URL, include a quick blurb about the page, and add relevant tags.

This is a great option to add to your marketing mix to help your content get seen by new qualified eyes.

Bloglovin’

Make it share-worthy! This is where other bloggers have the opportunity to read (and share!) your post. It’s basically the easiest way to follow your favorite blogs.

Since 2007, this platform has allowed users to read, organize, and discover their favorite blog articles on mobile and desktop. Essentially it takes feeds from sources with RSS feeds, so users can find and organize meaningful content.

Medium

This is a great spot to republish your posts! Submit your post as a story, add relevant tags, and include external links to direct readers to your website for more details!
