Creating compelling content isn’t easy. There are literally thousands upon thousands of blogs on the internet, which is why choosing a niche for your business blog is important. If you are going to stand out in a crowded market, you need informative content for your customers to find. Keep reading for tips on how to find your niche!
Identify Your Target Audience
If you can build a deep relationship with your audience, you will know what products or services to promote, and what content to focus on. Research your audience before developing your products or services, because while products and services can change, a deeply committed audience will stick with your business for years and years.
For Charisma, we care about developing other women-owned businesses so that’s our primary audience. Our secondary audience is the trades because they need to know how to talk to females to make us feel more comfortable hiring them.

How Do I Find My Niche?
Chances are, you already have a niche to work from, you just don’t know it yet! If you are a plumber, electrician, or another tradesman, there is a wealth of information that you can impart to your audience. After all, you are an expert in your field, right?
From how-to’s to advice on troubleshooting a problem, there are many blog topics to choose that will show you are an expert in your field! The same can be said for any industry or business, you just have to know who your target audience is and what their needs are.
Ask yourself these questions to find your niche:
- Who is your target audience?
- What problem are you helping them solve?
- When do they realize that they need your product or service?
- What are their pain points or concerns and how can you alleviate them?
Great content will inform and entertain, but also ultimately solve a problem or answer a question for your customer.
Your content “sweet spot” is when you find the area where your audience’s interests and your expertise intersect.
Tips to Talk to Your Target
Research Industry Trends
To help figure out your niche for blog topics, try researching industry trends. What are people searching for? What keywords are they using when they search for these topics? If you answer these questions, you will be able to figure out what content to write about, and how to market it to your audience.
Keep Your Focus on Keywords
Keywords will reveal vital marketing information about your customers. What are their wants, needs, and unsolved problems? If you are aware of what your audience is lacking, then you can be the one to provide informative content to them! This will leave your customers feeling satisfied and fostering brand loyalty.
Go with Evergreen
Focus on “Evergreen content,” or those questions that people ask day in and day out. The best part about evergreen content is that it continues to be relevant long past its publication, so it will continue to bring in traffic time and time again.
P.S. If you don’t answer these questions, someone else (AKA your competition) will. If you need help in the content department, just let our content queens know!

Turn Trends into Blog Topics
Now that you have researched what your target audience is searching for, we recommend that you choose 4-5 main categories for your content to fall under. This will help you plan out future posts and determine if any sections of content have gaps that you might want to fill.
As you build out your blog, you can create sections for DIYs, FAQs, how-to’s, money-saving tips, product or service spotlights, etc. to reach your target audience. These kinds of blog posts are engaging content that will inform your customers, and bonus...they are also highly searched!
Ultimately, your goal with your blog is to showcase your brand as an expert in your industry and aim to help and inform your target audiences. Build rapport with your audience, consistently share what you know, and watch your sales grow!
